‘05 'Intrinsic Mix' - These hybrids consist of second generation
seedlings that come from a cross of ‘Kim’s Knee High’ and

Echinacea purpurea Purple Coneflower
‘05 'Doubledecker' - A unique flower form

in the center of the mature cones giving the effect of a second
flower on top of a flower. Due to seed production, not all plants will
be double and not all plants will show the doubling petals the first
year. Full sun, well drained soil. |
|
Echinacea

The native species is a recent
introduction in the trade. It differs from the purpurea species in that

orange and fade to a unique rhubarb pink still showing hints of orange.

Epimedium
youngianum Young's Barrenwort
'Niveum' - Small heart shaped foliage on slow
spreading 1' clumps. Early white flower clusters in April emerge just
before the new foliage. Tolerates dry shade but moist soil will do along
with part sun. (Groundcover.)

blue and silver on uniform 18" stems. Full sun, well drained soil.

Eryngium
yuccifolium Rattlesnake Master
Native in the prairies,
Rattlesnake Master has strapping gray green foliage with spines. White
flower balls in July to 4' are showy into fall. Moist to well drained
soil, full sun.
|
 |
Eupatorium
aromaticum Variegated Thoroughwort
'Jacus' - I first tried this for the
variegated foliage, which is a splashed yellow with some green to the
emerging new growth. But this fall the bright white flowers really
caught my eye. Just as the Joe Pye Weed starts to fade in
September they make substantial 3' wide by 5' tall clumps and the
foliage looks mostly green at this point. Full sun and moist to drained
soil.

 |
Euphorbia cyparissias Spurge
'Fen's Ruby' - Reddish foliage, which is finer than the species', turns
deep green in May about the same time its yellow chartreuse heads begin
