Presentations by Speakers


John Greenlee
Known as the “Grassman” in horticultural circles, John Greenlee is an internationally known horticulturist and landscape designer specializing in the cultivation and study of grasses and grass-like plants. He is the author of The Encyclopedia of Ornamental Grasses (Rodale, 1992) and The American Meadow Garden (Timber Press, 2009).

Kelly Norris
Kelly D. Norris is an award-winning author and plantsman from Iowa and the director of horticulture and education at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, a revitalized public garden in Des Moines, Iowa. Throughout his career, his work has been featured in The New York Times, Organic Gardening, Better Homes and Gardens, Martha Stewart Living, and Garden Design. His next book New Naturalism: Designing and Planting a Resilient, Ecologically Vibrant Home Garden debuts in January 2021.

Dr Mary Meyer
Dr. Mary H. Meyer is a professor and extension horticultur- ist at the University of Minnesota where she teaches plant identification classes and is Director of the Masters in Professional Studies in Horticulture degree program. In 1987 she planted the nationally accredited Grass Collection at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum where she and students continue to study grasses and their culture as landscape plants in USDA Zone 4.
